For Americans interested in jobs in the energy sector dealing with wind turbines or gas turbines, General Electric (GE) has some generally bad news. In a September 15th press release, the company announced that 500 jobs will be permanently slashed from the American economy. 100 jobs from Texas will be outsourced internationally to Hungary and China while more than 400 total jobs from New York, South Carolina, and Texas will be outsourced to Europe.
In a press release, the company blamed a lack of "credit financing" for "critical power projects".
The transition of moving jobs overseas will take place in 2016, GE stated.
